Trigger Point Pilates Workshop

Saturday 23rd March 10.00-11.45am
Cost £24.00

A Trigger Point Pilates® class combines Pilates based exercises with trigger point release and clinical Myofascial principles to help release tight muscles, enhance functional daily movement and restructure the body.
The training method helps to release the body from inside out, targeting the connective tissue that surrounds every muscle and joint. It can help alleviate chronic pain conditions and acute muscular tightness, minimising restrictions and enhancing functional movement.
Trigger Point Pilates (TPP) is ideal for everyone, however fit; from the elite athlete to the post rehab client.

All equipment is provided by The Studio: Prickle stimulating balls, foam roller, softball and light resistance band.

What is Myofascia?
Myofascia is the multi-layered connective tissue that holds, wraps, stabilizes, and connects everything in your body. This continuous band of fascia is sinewy and should glide smoothly, enabling a healthy function and movement within our bodies. Fascia is the system of connective tissue that lies just under the surface of our skin.
Under a microscope, fascia is highly organised tissue filled with water, and its job is to attach, stabilise, enclose and separate muscles and internal organs.

Functional feet Workshop

TBC

Everything happens from the feet up!
A must for all sports enthusiasts and anyone who has ever suffered with foot or lower limb problems.
The more I learn, the more strongly I feel we must pay more attention to our feet. We squash them into ill-fitting shoes, stand for long periods of time and walk on cement pathways. Our feet are highly sensory, telling us where and how to step, but they also set up the balance of the pelvis and spine. If we stop and pay attention, we may improve back issues, hip and knee pain, and release our necks.
A practical session looking at correct alignment of the foot and lower limb, incorporating take away exercises to restore healthy foot function, improve strength, articulation, and proprioception in the feet.
Learn the most common injuries and how to avoid them. Some of the injuries we will be covering: plantar fasciitis, dropped arches, morton's neuroma, bunions, weak ankles, ankle sprains and strains.

Take home informative handouts with exercises. All equipment is provided by the Studio and is available to purchase at the end of the workshop so that you can practise at home.
